What does Aurora mean?
Aurora is the Latin word for dawn, the ancient Greek deity Io, who opens the gates of heaven and heralds the arrival of the Sun. She was the sister of the Sun and the Moon and the mother of the Winds (Zephyr, North, South, Evrys). It symbolizes rebirth and renewal, new life, the day after darkness. The “Rose-fingered Dawn” of the Homeric epics was a source of inspiration for our name, as from our rooms you can enjoy the incomparable beauty of the sunrise, as the sun rises on the horizon between Trikeri and the island of Dokos. We aspire with our hospitality and high quality of service, to provide you with a rejuvenating sweet escape.
